Just watched this video about imprinting service at Pearson airports. Watch the camera pan to the long list of delays. Is location part of PR/crisis communication? Is this something you cover in your classes? https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cu2_hE5tWmb/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
In a rapidly changing world, where industries evolve and workers seek greater representation, a powerful force is making a resurgence: unions. These organized bodies of workers have been on the rise, advocating for fair wages, better working conditions, and employee rights. You've likely heard about the writers' strike, but last Thursday, the national board of SAG-AFTRA on Thursday authorized the union’s members to go on strike after efforts to negotiate a new contract with the major studios collapsed.
But with this upsurge in union activity comes another phenomenon that's transforming the landscape of corporate communication and stakeholder engagement: the uptick in PR messaging and stakeholder activism.

Hey everyone!
Recently, someone on Twitter asked if I knew about Instagram's new social media app, Threads.
Ah, yeah.
Do you mean the app I signed up for before flying home from vacation that got me sucked into the social vortex? It wasn't until almost 90 minutes after we reached our destination that I closed the app.
The main takeaway: 👉 MASSIVE TIME SUCK
The online community is buzzing about it, however. You should definitely check it out if you're on Instagram. In just five days, Threads has attracted over 100 million followers. It's a platform all about conversations and replies, allowing users to connect and engage in a more intimate way. 🗣️💬
But here's the thing - Threads is different from other social media platforms. In this atmosphere of genuine expression and getting loose, people are letting their hair down and sharing more candidly. Seeing this level of openness is exciting, but it also raises concerns. There's a chance that things can get out of hand and go sideways quickly for someone in the public eye (or not).
Users may encounter some crisis situations if they aren't careful with their content.
Why don't you join me on Threads? Currently, it's a mobile-only app, so you'll need to find me on Instagram first.
I'd like to hear your thoughts. Or better yet, ask a question here in this community.
Cheers!
Molly
