I've been a woman in the church for 2 decades, Ive been fed this idea that man was created first and woman came from his rib thus we (women) are inferior and were created to help men. Is there something I'm missing? I know both men and women were created in the image of God and thus must be equal, but it feels like the creation story challenges this. Help basically, is there information I'm missing or not understanding? Any of your time would be greatly appreciated. I want to be a strong independent woman but this narrative suggests that my role isn't to be independent? Like that wasnt what I was created for? Feeling lost.
