Hey, I wanted to ask a question about degrees. Im currently a mechanical engineering student at one of the russel group uni’s in the UK. My university offers this intensive year In Computer Science for stem students where we study computer science for a dedicated year and my degree then becomes:
BEng in Mechanical Engineering with Year In Computer Science
The course is designed to cover a lot into one year. And effectively cover the main parts of the bachelors degree.
I was considering switching degrees to CS before but I was recommended by my CS department to do this.
My question is would I be at a disadvantage, degree wise, compared to the other CS students when applying for jobs even tho im doing engineering and CS now? Or could this actually help me stand out?
