Electrical engineering is broad and a lot of people go into hardware and software so I was wondering whether you think software is a good route from EE or whether I should stick to more traditional EE jobs i.e. hardware, signal processing, power, etc

I’m messaging you because i’m currently a mechanical engineering student and i’m wondering if software engineering should be my goal. I’m currently split between software engineering, mechanical engineering and law. I’m going into my 3rd year now and i’m slowly getting to a point where I urgently need to decide. I really enjoy coding and i’ve always got good grades with low level programming applications like Python, Java, MatLab, etc. I do feel like i’ll enjoy it but i just want to know the things I should be 100% certain on before going into software engineering. Hi, Baxate. How are you ? Can you give your opinion about career? I am graduated in agronomic engenieering. But I really like Programming and Data Science. I worked dealing with agronomic data (something like BI analysis, etc). But then I quited and now I am a data analyst working with finance data. I have a MBA in Big Data and Competitive Intelligence (I did it online, anyway...) My question is: do you think I should have a degree in technology? Or my degree in STEM + experience is enough?
