I got accepted into uc berkeley for the class of 2027, but not in CS. Im planning on majoring in applied math, and if possible double majoring in data science. Starting this year its incredibly difficult to transfer into cs or data science so I was wondering in the case I cant get into data science will it significantly decrease my chances of getting a tech job?

Hey bro, I’m an incoming freshman at the university of Michigan and I am deciding between majoring in computer engineering or data science. As a CE major yourself, how did u find the SWE job/internship search to be like? Did recruiters view you slightly different since you weren’t a CS major? If you were in my shoes (someone aiming for SWE jobs), would you choose to major in Data Science or CE, or does it not really matter? Thanks.
