I’m first year student at the university of Ottawa. I’m studying biomedical mechanical engineering but after watching your videos I’m thinking of switching from biomedical engineering to software engineering. What do you recommend? Is software engineering better than biomedical engineering?

Is it necessary that I get a degree in computer science/software engineering to become a software engineer? Or can I achieve the same result by getting a different engineering degree like electrical or mechanical engineering? Also, what's the difference in the kinds of jobs you can get with a software engineering degree compared to a computer science degree? Do companies make any distinctions between the two?
