Hey Baxate, huge fan of your lifestyle and work ethic. I’m a CS major in my first year, as an international student. I noticed that I am a bit behind my peers and wanted to know where I can start to improve as a complete (almost) beginner. I feel that Georgia Tech is too competitive for me as an international student and was thinking of transferring to a less rigorous institution in my next year if things don’t work out, but I’ll try my best to hang on. Any specific concepts I should check out, videos, or channels to watch before actually starting my CS classes would be a great help!

I was wondering if looking back on college, did you ever wish you had majored in computer science rather than computer engineering? Did you think having advanced math credits helped out more since you were applying for computer engineering? I’m interested in the software engineering field but I am stuck on if i should major in computer engineering or computer science.

Hey Baxate, I'm currently a rising sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill majoring in Neuroscience on the pre-med track. Tech has always been my passion, and I feel like I was going pre-med just to make my parents happy, but I am now considering switching to or adding a Comp Sci major. I have little programming experience (aside from taking AP Comp Sci in high school, where we were taught the basics of Python, as well as dabbling in a few coding games/courses). What steps should I take to gain experience and hopefully land an internship the summer after my sophomore year? Also, should I consider a career in Machine Learning, given my Neuroscience background and possibly double majoring?

Hey Bax, Transferring to gt this year, do you think it would be better to have on my resume for education that i go to gt with my expected graduation date, or should I also add my last university too since I had a 4.0 gpa even though its not a super good university? Ive been doing the latter and have applied to over 75 internships with 0 luck so Im wondering if you think removing my first university will make a difference or if its probably another factor preventing me from being successful in my applications.

Hi Baxate! My name is Alan, I'm 20 years old and from Sweden, interested in becoming a SWE working in San Francisco. A bit of background on my current situation: I studied economics in high school and graduated a year ago, meaning I most likely have to read up on a few more subjects to be eligible for computer science. My target is getting in to SFSU - computer science fall next year. I have contacted a company that provides free guidance for studying abroad. I guess my question is, is SFSU a good choice for becoming a SWE working there? And what would you do if you were in my position (other than studying the required subjects)?
