Hey Carter, love your content, I was watching your podcast and was wondering regarding the resume section. Have you ever posted your resume or a similar one for CS specially before. A lot of the resumes I find don’t cater towards projects and classes oriented templates/ideas. Any advice would be helpful thank you!
Hey Baxate, huge fan of your lifestyle and work ethic. I’m a CS major in my first year, as an international student. I noticed that I am a bit behind my peers and wanted to know where I can start to improve as a complete (almost) beginner. I feel that Georgia Tech is too competitive for me as an international student and was thinking of transferring to a less rigorous institution in my next year if things don’t work out, but I’ll try my best to hang on. Any specific concepts I should check out, videos, or channels to watch before actually starting my CS classes would be a great help!
Studied Health Sciences on a Physical Therapy track my first 1.5 years of university while playing baseball. Had 2 huge shoulder injuries eventually forcing me to give up baseball. Simultaneously my school merged with another school and halted the PT program and baseball program of course so I dropped out. Been out for 1 year now and have been working at the local post office full time stacking money. Want to get back into school now and want to do CS to stay in STEM related classes so my previous 1.5 years of credits will translate over into my next field. My gpa is a 3.0 from my previous 1.5 years of STEM so I was thinking of attending a local CC to get my gpa up and smoothly transition into the field of CS. Thoughts? Any Advice? Thanks guys.
Hello Baxate, I wanna start first off by saying your content has really helped me out a lot as a CS student and aspiring SWE. I’m in a bit of a predicament right now trying to figure out where to continue my college education. I’m currently studying CS at a pretty average school and going into my junior year. I’ve also been accepted as a transfer student at BU for computer engineering. My issue is that BU, overall, I think has way more networking, internship opportunities, and academics. I also think that CE will help me be able to get more jobs (both hardware and software) but at the same time I would have to do an extra year to catch up on classes. This decision has been really weighing on me and I don’t know if starting at a new school and leaving everything behind is worth the extra year. Please let me know what you think! Thank you
