do you recommend going to a community college for 2 years to get an associate degree in computer programming then transfer to a university, or do the community college then get an internship?

I’m currently a freshman at a community college pursuing an associate degree on computer science programming. I’m currently struggling with some topics in C++ and need the help of chatgpt to figure out questions/assignments. I understand the reading and material. I’m just struggling on the assignments where I have to write the code. Any advice?
