Hey I’m 16 and I’m trying to learn how to code. Im trying to do the cs50 python course and I’m listening to the lectures and I understand what he’s saying I can comprehend it fine but I can’t seem to actually learn it like I get the information but then a few minutes later I forget all of it. Do you have any tips on how to not just listen but actually learn.
I went to community college and then did a semester at university in the spring. To continue going to university will cost me about ~20k/year (including tuition, housing, food) or I could do an online CS B.S. degree through ASU or another university which would cost me ~4k/year (both after aid). I am really concerned about racking up debt. I have about 50 units left and unsure about which route to go. I would like to join computer science club and other clubs at university but I’m not sure if that alone is worth incurring debt when I could complete a degree for much less money. I don’t have any family that has gone through college so any insight or advice would be awesome! Thank you!
Hi, I’m an incoming freshman to GT majoring in computer engineering. I watch a lot of your videos and am truthfully grateful to stay informed. As an incoming student (still very lost) I wanted to know what threads you pursued to prepare you for a career as a software engineer. Also after watching some of your videos, I wanted to know what else I can do as a first year student, other than projects, to improve my resume for summer internships? What can I do to refine and gain new technical skills over the next year? Thank you now and in advance for all help.
Hi there! Congrats on your success especially at such a young age. Thank you for your sincere and honest opinions and for sharing your experiences. I’m curious to hear your thoughts. My son lives at home in Miami and goes to school at FL International University. He is in his junior year studying computer science and is looking to transfer to the U of Central FL for his senior year. I’m wondering if you think the college from which he graduates is an important factor in finding employment after graduation or are all CS degrees respected the same regardless of the school from which you graduate. I’m wondering if he should consider transferring to and graduating from a more reputable CS university or should he save the added cost of tuition and cost of living and stick with UCF.
