I was thinking of starting a small web design agency to help me improve my programming skills and to get some extra bread on the side. However my main goal is to make websites for small companies. These websites could be mini projects I put on my resume to increase my chances of landing an internship. I just want your thoughts on this idea.

My school recommends that I get a windows laptop for engineering, but it's not a hard requirement for CS. I feel like Mac is the better option by far, but I've heard that there are certain softwares/languages that are hard to run on mac and require a VM. Is this the case, and would it be better to stay away from Mac?
