College Major
When entering college does it make any difference if you major in comp sci or actual software engineering if your planning on trying to get a software engineer job after college?

I’m going to be attending UC Berkeley in the fall as a freshman. I was wondering if it was a feasible option to get into CS with no prior coding experience. My parents want me to go down the medical path, but seeing that Berkeley has such a prestigious CS program, I don’t know if that would harm or help me because I have no prior coding knowledge. Any advice would be helpful.
I was just admitted off the waitlist for UC Berkeley’s Letters and Sciences college with guaranteed admission into Data Science, but I’m currently committed to the university of illinois at urbana champaign for cs+stats. I live in california so i’d get in state tuition for berkeley, but income isn’t really a problem for my family. I was wondering if you had any advice or opinions as I make this decision because Im really stuck right now and don’t know which of the two will be best for me. Thank you so much; love the videos!
Hey, I’ve been watching lots of your videos for a while, and it came to interest in becoming a software engineer… as a beginner what would you recommend (school/courses/boot camp) everyone has it a little different but wanted to know your opinion.
