Software | Lifting | Living Life
Hey! I'm a 23 year old Software Engineer. I like to help other people who want to get into the field. I also give college/highschool advice. I like to discuss motivation and drive. I also am super passionate about lifting.

Compsci degree

I go to a local state school in sacramento to get my degree in computer science, do you think employers factor where I went for my degree or is it not that important as long as I excel in other areas? Btw I appreciate all your advice, for software engineering and life in general👍🏼

AI (overall)

I know you say AI will not replace swes, at least not for a long time, but I’m curious what is your thoughts on AI as a whole? Do you think it’s something that should be regulated? Is it something the average person should maybe be concerned about? Thanks :)

No Freshman Internship

I’m an ISyE Major at GaTech and I want to break into a top consulting firm (MBB), but since I started college at 16 I won’t be old enough for most internships i found for summer 2024. I know prior work experience is very important for getting a junior year internship (summer 2026) at a top consulting firm but I never found any internships and missed the boat for summer 2024 recruiting (1 part my age, 3 parts neglecting this). How badly am I screwed if I don’t get at 2024 internship? How can I make up for it? Will I still have any chance at a good management consulting internship in 2026 or would the competitive nature of these internships not cut slack for lack of experience? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Am I doomed

I am a sophmore CompE at UIUC, and all my friends have internships lined up at big tech for next summer while I'm still doing interviews and applying. I wonder if its because I go to a public school and maybe if I worked in harder in highschool I coulda went to MIT or something. Do you think its still possible for my TC to be 200k straight out of college. Please let me know!

UTA/ULA worth?

Im currently a CS junior and have been applying to internships. I have personal projects as proof of proficiency in my listed skills however I do not have any relevant work experience/prior internship in CS. My cs department reached out to me about becoming a teaching assistant/lab assistant for lower level CS courses. Is this opportunity worth my time and effort and would look good on resume/help me get an internship? Thx for your time

Is Your Job Trapping You?

You are clearly smart with your money, which means you must know the only way to be rich is to detach your time from your money. You are working as a software engineer right now and while you are certainly making an affluent salary, be the true financial freedom comes from working being optional. When do you plan to transition from renting out your time to earn an income to something that is detached from your time, and what business ideas do you have? Thanks for the great content.

Question about AI/ML

Hi Baxate, I really want to pursue AI and machine learning and I have just started venturing into AI/ML, however all the courses I have looked at have high ratings but the actual comments tend to be pretty negative. I was wondering if there are any courses you recommend to build a strong foundation for AI/ML and add projects to my resume or if you know what I should do to build a strong foundation for AI/ML and add projects to my resume

Travel Help - Samsung Event

Hey! I hope you're well! I would love to come to SF for the Samsung event but I'm based in Toronto... as a student paying for my flight will be a bit difficult. I know you're extremely busy but if you could please ask the Samsung events team if they do any travel reimbursements, it would mean a lot to me. Best, Bashshar 3rd year SWE student

Keep it up!

Hey man, I stumbled across your page and I’m loving your content. You are sharing bits that I have been living by for years and they are true gems-literally the hacks to a meaningful life. You’re very wise for your age and I want you to know that the knowledge you are sharing is true tested (as you know). I’m a 35 year old lawyer and have realized much success personally, romantically, and professionally living by a similar mindset. Keep up the good work. Young men should follow you instead of those phony “alpha” influencers. Let me know if there’s anything you ever needs from the NJ/NYC area.
